We worked with this southwest Pennsylvania university for a period of nine years. Initially, the task involved the development of an admissions marketing plan for undergraduates. The scope of work expanded to include marketing initiatives for graduate programs and the launch of a new satellite location twenty miles south of Pittsburgh.This launch was extremely successful. This location now contributes approximately 10% of the university’s enrollment.

Other projects included market research, the creation of a new web site, image advertising, a comprehensive new Open House program, 150th anniversary celebration planning, a $14 million capital campaign, on-going production of a weekly on-campus communications tool, as well as the quarterly design and production of a quarterly alumni magazine.

During our affiliation with Cal U, the university saw enrollment increase by 15%. Applications increased from 1100 annually to over 1400 annually. Average SAT scores of applicants jumped by almost 50 points. Attendance at open house events shot up 48%.

This ongoing marketing effort enjoyed broad support from senior administration and key players: admissions staff, development, and public relations personnel. This public university has leapt from the near bottom of the statewide system universities to the top half!
